Rules

Euro24TippingComp
UEFA Euro 2024 (EURO24) Tipping Competition
The Tipping Competition has some essential rules:
a) The main rule is to have fun.
b) The competition is strictly not for profit. All collected entry fees will be awarded to the winning participants. Istvan is the coordinator of the competition and gets a free entry.
c) All players are expected to submit their tips honestly and with fair play.
d) By entering this competition, participants (players) accept these rules.
e) Entry and participation in this competition cost $150.
f) Players must register by emailing euro@istvantippingcomp.com and providing accurate email and mobile phone details and a preferred player name. Players cannot register more than once and must not collude with other entrants to gain favourable outcomes.
g) The competition involves registered players submitting tips for the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship in Germany.
h) For each game during the competition (including the group and the knockout phases), a player must nominate their tip by selecting any Tipping Options.
i) For the benefit of the competition, a HOME team is the first team, and an AWAY team is the second team, as indicated by the EURO24 website’s MATCHES page (https://www.uefa.com/euro2024/fixtures-results/#/d/2024-06-15). This means that the organising country, Germany, may not be the home team for all games.
j) The correct selections (including the knockout phase) will be settled on REGULAR TIME (90 minutes + injury time added on by the referee.) A DRAW can be a possible outcome for the knockout phase games.
k) Tipping options: The following Tipping Options will be available for each game during the competition (the two teams competing in each game are referred to below as “Home Team” and “Away Team”): Option 1: Home Team to win (1) Option 2: Away Team to win (2) Option 3: Home Team and Away Team to draw (X)
l) Tips can be submitted via reply email using the tipping slip sent or on https://istvantippingcomp.com/ using the Tipping page.
m) Players cannot submit more than one tip per game.
n) Tips must be submitted before the tipping deadline indicated on the tipping slip.
o) Players who do not submit tips by the tipping deadline will be awarded all home games
p) Tips cannot be altered after all players’ tips have been published via email and on the web page.
q) The winner will be the player with the most points collected through receiving points for the ‘CORRECT PICKS’ plus bonus points for the ‘GOLDEN PICK’ and ‘SUPER PICKS’ (representing the standings after the group games – explained below)

r) A ‘CORRECT PICK’ gets points calculated as follows: The number of players minus the number of players that tipped the match correctly. For example, there are 30 players. 12 players tipped the game correctly as a home win, and the home team won. Each of these 12 players gets 18 points, calculated as 30 minus 12. Other players get zero.
s) The ‘GOLDEN PICK’ represents a participating country picked by each player before the start of the competition. The bonus point system for the EuroTippingComp 2024:

‘GOLDEN PICK’ bonus points:
Euro Champion: 80 Points
Runner-Up: 60 Points
Third: 50 Points
Fourth: 40 Points
Quarter-finalists: 30 Points
Best of 16: 20 Points
Out after group games: 0 Point

t) ‘SUPER PICKS’ for the correct Group standings after the first three rounds:
The point system is the same as the ‘CORRECT PICK’.
The number of players minus the number of players who tipped the nation to finish correctly in their group after the three round-games. For example, there are 30 players. 12 players tipped the group rank for “GERMANY” as number one in Group A correctly. Each of these 12 players gets 18 points, calculated as 30 minus 12. Other players get zero.
Before EURO24 starts, the players are asked to rank the finishing ranks of each country in their respective groups.
r) The prize money will be published once all players register. The top three placed players and round winners are awarded, subject to the total prize pool.
s) It is an expectation – but not compulsory for the first-placed player to donate some funds to the end-of-competition celebration dinner for all the players.
t) The istvantippingcomp life members and the co-ordinator will resolve disputes. (Please refer to the website for more)
u) … and having fun is still the most important rule. Enjoy!
